Salvation. Make Sure It’s Real

The best love story ever written is the B-I-B-L-E.  It is all about God’s immeasurable love for us (mankind). God loves us not based on anything we did, have done, or could do for him.  That can be a hard concept for our human mind to grasp because our society is quid pro quo.  God placed on my heart to share a few verses about salvation.  The ones I choose are by no means exclusive but these were the ones I was to write.

Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him up from the dead, you will be saved.”

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Isaiah 64:6 …And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags…”

Titus 3:5a“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us…”

Salvation is a heart change as Rom. 10:9 says.  Your mouth only does half the work.  Many people claim Jesus with their mouth but their heart is far from Him.  The popular saying “God knows my heart” is true.  Psalm 44:21, Luke 16:15, Acts 15:8, Rom. 8:27, and 1 John 3:20 all attest to that fact.  However, generally a person makes that statement while being willfully disobedient to God.  For example, complete this phrase as you have said it or as you have heard it said yourself. “I know I should ________ but I just can’t.  God knows my heart.”

God does know your heart.  He knows it better than you ever could because He made you.  We are all God’s creation.  Only those that confess that they are a sinner, believe in their heart the God raised Jesus from the dead, and ask that God forgive them and save them are God’s children.

Make sure it’s real.
